Legacy and Planned Giving*

A legacy gift is an excellent way to make a contribution to the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, while gaining financial benefits for you and your family. Regardless of your income level, you can support your orchestra with a significant gift, realize tax savings, and see to the needs of those who are important to you.

More Canadians choose to make a legacy gift through a charitable bequest than by any other method. Through a bequest, you can make a direct impact on the future of Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra and create a legacy that will live on for future generations. Your gift to Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra will help keep the music playing.

The Benefits of Legacy and Planned Giving

  • The charitable tax credit can help reduce your income taxes; and
  • There are further possibilities of additional tax benefits when you donate shares, establish the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra as the irrevocable owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or when you establish a charitable annuity.

For more information on these options, please consult your financial advisor.

How does a legacy gift help the NSO?

Charitable giving is about creating opportunities for individuals and causes you believe in. Sadly, but increasingly, we are dependent on individuals because government and corporate support has become less reliable and increasingly difficult to access. With increased competition for fundraising dollars we are constantly challenged to remain financially healthy. Your legacy gift is integral to the short and long term health of your orchestra.

Please consider leaving a charitable bequest to Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra or NSO Foundation Inc. in your will or estate plan.
