The Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra is back Under the Big Top! Join the NSO under the direction of Marc David as we collaborate with the St. John’s International CircusFest! The concert opens with the winner of the CMC Music competition, Sacha Jorba – Wu. Then we head to the circus, as Carole Demers and CircusFest curate a magical evening of circus acts together with orchestral accompaniment. It is a night of “oos and ahs” with great entertainment for the whole family!
The concert features L. van Beethoven’s Leonore #3 Overture as well as works by C. Saint-Saëns Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso and P. Sarasate Zigeunerwisen.

The Canadian Music Competition and its Chapters, through a competition process and related activities, bring together young Canadian musicians, support their study of classical music, nurture their passion and talent, and encourage the perseverance and discipline required in the achievement of excellence.
This year the St. John’s International CircusFest is partnering with with artists and world renowned contemporary circus companies from Quebec and Europe to join us at the edge of the world. Innovative new performances, interactive industry panels, keynote speakers and workshops.
