Recital 3 with the ASQ
February 10, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm$20 – $23
What makes this concert interesting…
- The ASQ is so excited to feature a guest performer for this concert; both Charles and the ASQ will perform works and they will then combine for a Piano Quintet
- The Mozart quartet being performed is named “Dissonance” because of its unusual slow introduction
- Dvořák was dissatisfied with the Op. 5 quintet and destroyed the manuscript not long after its premiere. Fifteen years later, he reconsidered and retrieved a copy of the score from a friend and revised it to create the work we have today
Featuring the Atlantic String Quartet, the NSO’s Recital Series presents high quality chamber music. The ASQ includes Heather Kao, Nancy Case-Oates, Kate Read, and Theo Weber. Charles Richard-Hamelin, piano, will join the ASQ. Selections for Recital 3 are: Mozart’s String Quartet No. 19, C Major, K. 465 “Dissonance”, Chopin’s Andante Spianto Grande Polonaise brilliante Op. 22, and Dvořák’s Piano Quintet No. 2, Op. 81. This concert is held at D.F. Cook Recital Hall, Memorial University.
The performance is made possible by The Idea Factory.
Tickets ($20-$23) are available at the ACC Box Office (729-3900), at www.artsandculturecentre.com and at the door.
