Bio

As one of the long-time community members, Jon has been playing within the NSO organization since 1981. He is one of the founding members of the Newfoundland Symphony Youth Orchestra and has played in the NSO since 1982 until moving away for work/study in 1991. An Aerospace Engineer by profession, over the years he continued playing in several orchestras and quartets whilst living abroad in Ottawa and Manchester, Connecticut.  Returning to Newfoundland in 2005 to pursue his Ph.D., Jon rejoined the NSO and has played on and off again with the NSO as his work/travel schedule has permitted.  Now back permanently in 2019, Jon hopes to continue the musical legacy of his family and looks forward many years ahead as a stalwart member of the Viola section.
