Prepare for a musical journey around the world with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra’s Songs of Travel, on October 4, 2025, at 8 pm at the D.F. Cook Recital Hall, MUN—presented by Quidi Vidi Brewery as part of the Sinfonia series and led by conductor Juliane Gallant.

This evocative evening begins with Edward Elgar’s Serenade for Strings in E minor, Op. 30 (I. Allegro piacevole), before setting sail on a program inspired by global landscapes and cultural echoes:

  • Americas: Serenade by Teresa Carreño
  • Edward Elgar’s Larghetto
  • Oceania: Three Gymnopédies by Peggy Glanville-Hicks

  • A reprise of John Corigliano’s Voyage
  • Edward Elgar’s Allegretto

Adding a shining solo voice is renowned violinist Nancy Dahn, whose expressive artistry will bring the music destination to life.
