CONCERT DETAILS
Feel the rhythm of the land and the spirit of the people in Pulse of the Earth—a vibrant evening of music inspired by the cultural heartbeat of distant places and deep traditions. Join the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra on March 28, 2026 at 8pm at D.F. Cook Recital Hall, conducted by Johann Stuckenbruck and presented by Quidi Vidi Brewery as part of the Sinfonia series.
The evening begins with Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite No. 3—a graceful nod to Renaissance Italy, where old melodies are reimagined with modern warmth and texture. Then, prepare to be mesmerized by guitarist Ben Diamond in Villa-Lobos’ Guitar Concerto, a rich, lyrical work that blends classical form with the earthy soul of Brazilian folk music.
To close, tango meets the symphony in Piazzolla’s Sinfonietta, bursting with energy, elegance, and edge.
From timeless dances to modern flair, Pulse of the Earth is a worldly journey in sound that will move you—heart, mind, and feet. Tickets are available at the ACC Box Office (709-729-3900), online at www.artsandculturecentre.com and at the door.
