CONCERT DETAILS

Take a musical trip back in time with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra at Winter Pops, January 22 – 24, 2026 at 7:30pm at the Arts & Culture Centre.

With the always-electric Martin MacDonald on the podium, the NSO dives headfirst into the unforgettable sounds of the 1970s—an era when rock ruled the airwaves, folk tugged at heartstrings, and pop redefined cool. Featuring amazing vocalist Dana Parsons and backing vocals by Amy Wilson and John Williams, this concert will be one for the ages! Not to mention some of Dana’s special guest vocalists Baraka, Jodee Richardson, Wade Tarling, Keith Power, and Mike Bursey, you won’t want to miss this powerhouse lineup of vocalists.

From the soul-soothing harmonies of The Carpenters  and the singalong anthems of John Denver, this concert brings together the soundtrack of a generation—complete with a little Bee Gees sparkle for good measure.

We are also excited to welcome our RBC Emerging Artist Conductor Fellow Persio Piantini, who will conduct a portion of the concert. Persio has been working as the RBC Fellow during the 2025-26 season and will make his stage debut during Winter Pops.

Presented by East Port Properties, Winter Pops is a nostalgic celebration of the music that defined a decade. Whether you’re reliving your glory days or discovering the magic of ’70s music for the first time, this concert is sure to rock your world.
