Legacy Giving to the NSO Foundation
The NSO Foundation was incorporated in 2002 with the mission to oversee planned giving arrangements and periodic fundraising drives, ensuring a stable and self-sustaining funding base for the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra.
Our Objectives
- Custodian of Endowment Funds: The NSO Foundation serves as the permanent custodian of endowment funds directed to the NSO.
- Solicitation and Investment: We solicit, receive, and invest gifts to maximize their impact.
- Distribution of Funds: We accumulate, apply, and distribute principal and interest from invested funds for the benefit of the NSO and authorized special projects.
Planned Giving
A legacy gift is an excellent way to make a lasting contribution to the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra while gaining financial benefits for you and your family. Regardless of your income level, you can support your orchestra with a significant gift, realize tax savings, and see to the needs of those important to you. Your gift to the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra will help keep the music playing, and the charitable tax credit can help reduce your income taxes.
Consider These Options:
- Donating Shares: Transfer shares to the NSO Foundation and enjoy tax benefits.
- Life Insurance: Establish the NSO as the irrevocable owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
- Charitable Annuity: Establish a charitable annuity to support the NSO.
Your financial advisor can help determine the best options for you and your family.
