Gabriel Brodeur

Originally from Montréal, Québec, Gabriel benefitted from strong family support and the rich musical training that city has to offer. Gabriel is particularly grateful for his early violin training received from private teachers Ghislain Bard and Helmut Lipsky, enriching choir experiences with Gregory Charles (Petits chanteurs de Laval) and Gilbert Patenaude (Petits chanteurs du Mont Royal), the dedicated mentorship of Prof. Thomas Williams (McGill University) and the wonderful orchestral opportunities enjoyed with the Montreal Youth Symphony Orchestra (conductor Louis Lavigueur) and the McGill Symphony Orchestra (conductor Alexis Hauser).

Now a practicing lawyer in St. John’s and partner with the law firm Stewart McKelvey, Gabriel is equally grateful for the unique opportunity the NSO and music director Marc David offer him to reinvigorate his musical self and play high level ensemble music in beautiful St. John’s, Newfoundland.
